Luca Castiglione was born in Naples, Italy.

At 18 he moved to London, where he worked in the restaurant industry.
In London Luca also met his future South African wife Cecilia, and soon they moved to Cape Town together.

Here in 2001 Luca opened his own first restaurant, Limoncello, which operated successfully in Gardens until 2012, when it was time for a new venture: the Limoncello Food Truck.
Built by Luca himself, this large mobile kitchen toured for catering and events, and later led him to open a food truck building enterprise which he ran for the next 5 years.

Despite enjoying all these activities Luca still felt very much a chef at heart, and in November 2019, having found a beautiful spot in Noordhoek, he reopened Limoncello.
The restaurant was fortunate enough to survive the lockdowns and is now once again operating at full capacity.

Besides his passion for food, Luca also loves fishing and spear fishing as well as surfing, and recently discovered horse riding on the beautiful Noordhoek beach.

South Africa has definitely become his home, but Luca still considers still himself Neapolitan through and through, well connected to his Italian roots.
