Cari connazionali,
come noto, il 25 settembre 2022 sono previste in Italia le elezioni per il rinnovo della Camera dei Deputati e del Senato della Repubblica.
I connazionali iscritti all’AIRE, a partire dalla prossima settimana, riceveranno il plico elettorale attraverso il corriere BEX presso il proprio domicilio all’indirizzo di residenza registrato all’anagrafe consolare (non alla casella postale!). Si ricorda che la legge esclude la consegna ad indirizzo diverso (ufficio, luogo di lavoro, residenze temporanee, ecc.).
Sarà possibile votare direttamente alla consegna del plico elettorale, restituendo la busta chiusa con le schede votate ed il tagliando elettorale al corriere BEX. In alternativa, sarà possibile contattare il corriere BEX per concordare il ritiro gratuito delle schede votate.
In osservanza dei termini di legge, le schede votate dovranno pervenire in Consolato entro il 22 Settembre 2022 alle ore 16.00.
In caso di mancata ricezione del plico entro l’11 settembre 2022, si prega di contattare tempestivamente il corriere BEX (al numero 021 013 4577 o alla casella di posta elettronica italianCPT@bex.co.za) o questo Consolato (al numero 083 398 3010 o alla casella di posta elettronica segreteria.capetown@esteri.it).
Si ricorda che in base all’articolo 48 della Costituzione italiana, il voto è personale ed eguale, libero e segreto. L’elettore ha l’obbligo di custodire personalmente il materiale elettorale inviatogli dal Consolato.
È assolutamente vietato cedere il materiale elettorale a terzi. Chi viola le disposizioni in materia incorre nelle sanzioni previste dalla Legge. L’art. 18 della L. 459/2001 dispone: “1. Chi commette in territorio estero taluno dei reati previsti dal testo unico delle leggi recanti norme per la elezione della Camera dei deputati, di cui al decreto del Presidente della Repubblica 30 marzo 1957, n. 361, e successive modificazioni, è punito secondo la legge italiana. Le sanzioni previste all’articolo 100 del citato testo unico, in caso di voto per corrispondenza, si intendono raddoppiate. 2. Chiunque, in occasione delle elezioni delle Camere e dei referendum, vota sia per corrispondenza che nel seggio di ultima iscrizione in Italia, ovvero vota più volte per corrispondenza è punito con la reclusione da uno a tre anni e con la multa da 52 euro a 258 euro”.

Dear fellow Italian Citizens,
On 25 September 2022 the general election for the renewal of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Republic will take place in Italy.
Italian citizens registered with AIRE will start receiving their voter’s pack as from next week via Bex Express couriers at their residential address which is registered with the Consulate (not to the PO box!).
Please note that the law excludes the option to deliver the voter’s pack at a different address (office, workplace, temporary residence, etc).
When receiving the voting pack it is possible to vote immediately and to return the envelope with your vote and with your electoral certificate right away to the courier who effected the delivery. Alternatively, please contact Bex Express to arrange for them to collect the envelope containing your vote, free of charge.
As per the deadline set out by the Law, your voting papers will need to reach the Consulate no later than 22 September 2022, at 16:00.

Please be reminded that, according to Art. 48 of the Italian Constitution, voting is personal, free and secret.
It is the voter’s obligation to personally safeguard the electoral material sent to him by the Consulate.
It is absolutely prohibited to share the electoral material with third parties.
Any voter infringing these provisions shall be liable to the penalties imposed by the law. Art. 18 of Law 459/2001 states: “1. Whoever commits any of the offences envisaged in the Consolidated Text of the Laws containing provisions for the election of the Parliament Chambers, referred to in Presidential Decree No. 361 of 30 March 1957, as amended, on foreign soil, shall be punished in accordance with Italian law. The penalties provided for in Article 100 of the aforementioned Consolidated Law shall be doubled for postal voting. 2. Whoever, on the occasion of General Elections and Referendums, votes both by mail and at the polling station of last registration in Italy, or votes more than once by mail, shall be punished by imprisonment from one to three years and a fine ranging from Euro 52 to 258“.
